Helpful Hints
"My FI told my FMIL to STFU!" WHAT DOES ALL THAT MEAN?!?! Decoding the message board lingo and useful infomation!
General Hints
A few tips to guide you through the boards and make the experience more enjoyable :)
1) Do not use your full name or email as your SN or connect to a website with the information. There are creepers on here. Seriously some horror stores of cancelled wedding vendors and some cyber stalking so be smart and safe. if you do have a SN like this get a new account and then request your current account be deleted- there is no way to edit your SN.
2) Lurk on the boards before you post, there are certain vibes and cultures to each board. The general wedding boards (wedding boards or special topic) can have some abrupt replies so don't get offended. The club boards (this one) and the local boards tend to have a more laid back atmosphere and a smaller group of posters.
3) The default setting for the boards it to sort the threads, by the newest thread on top. If you would like to view by the newest post on top (so the "hottest" topics are on top)
-go to the May 2011 board- ie back to the list of threads
- on the top right there is a box titled "my viewing preferences",uncheck the view by recsent post. (I know it seems backwards but its what you have to do) refresh and it should update the way you view the threads!

Posting FAQs
-C&Ping URLS tend to mess up the format on the thread. so to make a WORD clickable. type the word in the box, then highlight it and a link icon will appear at the bottom of the text box, click it and past the URL into the appropriate box. ( I suggest changing the color of the clickable word to blue and underlined to it is apparent its a link.)
- to add a picture to a message click the Tree icon below the text box and upload from your desktop. no need to host the picture online.
-if you click on the number of posts in a thread instead of the title it will take you to the last page in the thread you viewed.

Signature FAQs
To change your signature there is a link on the left of your screen that says "update signature"
-then click edit avatar and sig (in the grey bar at the top of the page.)
there is a box to post the codes in.
- use <br*> minus the * for put things on new lines so it doesn't get all out of whack and run off the page.
For pictures you need to first upload a picture to a web hosting site like tinypic.com. (there are many others) make sure to save the picture in a smaller size no bigger than 200x200. it will give you a bunch of codes, select the HTML code (should start with an <a ref) and post in in the signature.
For tickers create the ticker on the knot or on another website and use the HTML code they give you.
For websites use this example:
<a href="http://example.com" />Example</a>give your link a title here and it will be a clicky word. If you make the text blue and underlined it will look like a clickable link.
